THE A46 TRUNK ROAD BETWEEN ALCESTER AND SNITTERFIELD, WARWICKSHIRE - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)(a) AND 7 THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN ALCESTER AND SNITTERFIELD, WARWICKSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A46 Trunk Road in the County of Warwickshire, to allow junction improvement works to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) close the A46 between its roundabout junction with the A435 (Oversley Mill Roundabout, at Alcester, and its roundabout junction with A439 Warwick Road (Marraway Roundabout), near Snitterfield;
(2) close any layby adjacent to the length of the A46 described in (1) above; and
(3) prohibit vehicles entering or leaving the length of the A46 described in (1) above at its junction with any side road. The work will be carried out in phases, overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours, and is expected to start on Monday 3 February 2025 and continue for approximately two months.
The layby closures will be in operation from 13:00 hours on Monday 3 February 2025, for twenty-four hours per day, for the duration of the works. The Order will come into force on 27 January 2025. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures and prohibition.
