Sandwell, West Bromwich/Smethwick - Temporary Road Closure, to allow for repairs.
What is happening?
SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
(Houghton Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Houghton Street from the junction of Spon Lane South to the junction of Hall Street South. Access to affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Spon Lane South, Kenrick Way (eastbound), Telford Way Roundabout, Kenrick Way (westbound) and Hall
Street South. A further traffic diversion route will be signed via Hall Street South, Kenrick Way and Spon Lane. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 23/01/2025 effective from 22/01/2025 (7pm - 6am). Purpose – to facilitate access to complete concrete repairs to the underside of the M5 Carriageway by National Highways.
(Rolfe Street, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Rolfe Street, which will be closed from its junction with Tollhouse Way to west of its junction with North Western Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Rabone Lane, Soho Street, Soho Way, Tollhouse Way and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 19/01/2025 effective from 18/01/2025 (9pm - 6am). Purpose – to facilitate access for use of a crane by Up and Under Ltd.
