What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Buscot, Footpath Number 150/18/10 Date of Order: 22 July 2024 Coming into force: 30 July 2024

This Order was introduced because of a damaged bridge. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the section of the footpath No. 150/18/10 carried by Bloomers Hole River bridge east of Lechlade Road.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to property which is only accessible from the closed section of footpath. The alternative route is signed locally. Works for repairs are yet to be added to the capital finance program and the completion date cannot yet be estimated.

Appropriate signs are displayed to indicate the measures are in force.

The order, with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport will remain in force until 31 December 2025 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14314/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Checkendon, Unnamed Road running through Stoke Row & Main St Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 6 January 2025 Coming into force: 13 January 2025

This Order is introduced to excavate the road to remove blockages and install new fibre cables which is anticipated to take 6 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in part of the unnamed road running through Stoke Row & Main Street (from Uxmore Road to outside 'Apple Trees' and from Main Street junction to Whitehall Lane).

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via the B481 - Gallowstree Road - Horsepond Road - A4074 - Main Street - Uxmore Road - Unnamed Road (running through Stoke Row & Main St) and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14687/MR)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Watlington, Cuxham Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 20 January 2025 Coming into force: 26 January 2025

This Order is being introduced because of maintenance of fibre optic cables which is anticipated to take 6 nights (Sunday to Saturday each night from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs) to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the section of Cuxham Road between Willow Close and Britwell Road.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via B4009 - Shirburn Road - A40 - A329 - B480 and vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14689/MR)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Milton Heights, A4130 Abingdon Road, 30 mph Speed Limit Date of Order: 20 January 2025 Coming into force: 27 January 2025

This Order is being introduced to allow safe construction of new bus lane, junction and signal improvements, pedestrian and cycle facilities and a new pedestrian crossing, which are anticipated to be completed March 2026. This is a 24-hour speed limit restriction. The effect of the Order is to temporarily reduce the 40mph and part of the 60mph speed limit to 30mph from the junction with Milton Interchange (A34) to a point 300metres east of the junction with the B4107 High Street. The restriction also extends 100metres into High Street.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The relevant part (40mph) of the Oxfordshire County Council (Milton, Abingdon) (Speed Limits) (No.2) Order 2024 will be suspended for the duration of the works. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14891/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Milton Heights, Trenchard Avenue Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 20 January 2025 Coming into force: 27 January 2025

This Order is being introduced to allow construction of a new bus lane, junction and signal improvements, pedestrian and cycle facilities and new pedestrian crossing works which are anticipated to be completed March 2026. This is a 24-hour road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of Trenchard Avenue from Milton Hill to the A4130.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via Milton Hill, Abingdon Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14892/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Chinnor, Keens Lane, OX39 4PF Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 20 January 2025 Coming into force: 27 January 2025

This Order is being introduced because of High Voltage cable diversion works which is anticipated to take 3 weeks to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the western section of Keens Lane.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. There is no diversion for this closure as the closure is on a dead end.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14871/MR)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Highmoor Cross, Witheridge Hill Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 13 January 2025 Coming into force: 19 January 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre cable installation works and excavations to address blockages which is anticipated to take 7 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in Witheridge Hill.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via the B481 - Stoke Road and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14731/MR)
