What is happening?

CITY OF WESTMINSTER

WESTBOURNE TERRACE

THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 553) ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 6th January 2025 made the above Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be, in connection with improvements to the cycle lanes on Westbourne Bridge and Westbourne Terrace that form a continuous cycle route between Harrow Road and Craven Road, to:

(a) on the north-east side of Westbourne Terrace:

(i) introduce 54.6 metres of additional double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions and 66.3 metres of “at any time” loading restrictions in that length of the cycle lane that lies between the entrances / exits of the unnamed access road serving Dorland House, Nos. 121 to 141, replacing single yellow line waiting restrictions; and

(ii) introduce 114.5 metres of additional double yellow “at any time” waiting restrictions and 126 metres of “at any time” loading restrictions in that length of the cycle lane that lies between the entrances / exits of the unnamed access road serving Nos. 79 to 119, replacing single yellow line waiting restrictions; and

(b) on the south-west side of Westbourne Terrace:
(i) introduce 115.1 metres of additional double yellow “at any time” waiting restrictions and 125.8 metres of “at any time” loading restrictions between the entrances / exits of the unnamed access road serving Nos. 70 to 106, replacing single yellow line waiting restrictions; and
(ii) introduce 68.2 metres of additional double yellow “at any time” waiting restrictions and 136.8 metres of “at any time” loading restrictions between the entrances / exits of the unnamed access road serving Nos. 32 to 68, replacing single yellow line waiting restrictions.

3. The Order, which will come into force on 13th January 2025, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until 17th February 2025 at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/ notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
