What is happening?
Albert Street, Whitstable, CT5 1HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow the footway reconstruction scheme to be undertaken, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Albert Street, Whitstable, from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 7th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.
Works Schedule
Phase 1
Albert Street will be closed between numbers 111 and 87, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via Stream Walk, Cromwell Road, Hamilton Road, Regent Street, Acton Road and vice versa.
Phase 2
Albert Street will be closed between number 85 and outside Kingdom Hall, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via St Peter’s Road, Woodlawn Street, Stream Walk and vice versa.
Phase 3
Albert Street will be closed between number 51 and in the vicinity of number 48 Harbour Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic westbound is via St Peter’s Road, Woodlawn Street and B2205 Harbour Street.
The alternative route for through traffic eastbound is via B2205 Harbour Street, Horsebridge Road, Sea Street, Bexley Street, Woodlawn Street and St Peter’s Road.
Albion Close, Herne, CT6 7HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Albion Close, Herne from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 31st January 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Albion Lane, Herne, CT6 7HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Albion Lane, Herne from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 31st January 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A291 Herne Street and Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A291 Herne Street, Canterbury Road, Curtis Wood Road, Ridgeway Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Broomfield Road, Herne, CT6 7LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Broomfield Road, Herne, from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 28th January 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 37 and 49, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broomfield Road, Mill Lane, Hunters Forstal Road, Margate Road, Broomfield Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Brunswick Square, Herne Bay, CT6 5NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brunswick Square, Herne Bay, from 13th January 2025, with estimated completion by 15th January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 11 and 13, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, Brunswick Square and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bushy Hill Road, Westbere, CT2 0HG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bushy Hill Road, Westbere, from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 30th January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between number 6 and Golden Hills Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Island Road, Staines Hill, Westbere Lane, Bushy Hill Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cockering Road, Chartham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cockering Road, Chartham, from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 28th January 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the track leading to Horton Bungalows and The Old Parlour, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cockering Road, Milton Manor Road, A28 Ashford Road, Shalmsford Road, The Crescent and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Forgefields, Herne, CT6 7HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Forgefields, Herne from 15th January 2025, with estimated completion by 28th January 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albion Lane, Ridgeway Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Island Wall, Whitstable, CT5 1EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Island Wall, Whitstable, from 30th January 2025, with estimated completion by 31st January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 98, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lower Herne Road, Herne, CT6 7NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow blockage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Herne Road, Herne, from 13th January 2025, with estimated completion by 17th January 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 87, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bullockstone Road and A291 Canterbury Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Middle Wall, Whitstable, CT5 1EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Middle Wall, Whitstable, from 14th January 2025, with estimated completion by 16th January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the back of the property 64 B2205 High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic wishing to travel Northbound is via Middle Wall, B2205 High Street, Terrys Lane and Middle Wall.
The alternative route for any through traffic wishing to travel Southbound is via Waterloo Road, Salt Marsh Lane, Cornwallis Circle, Shaftesbury Road, Nelson Road, B2205 Oxford Street and Middle Wall.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Poor Start Lane, Bridge. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Poor Start Lane, Bridge, from 15th January 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in phases, from the junction with A2 Dover Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic northbound is via A2 Dover Road, Barham Slip Eastbound Off, Box Iron Road, B2046 Adisham Road, Station Road, Pond Hill, Adisham Downs Road, Bramling Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic southbound is via Bramling Road, Adisham Road, Chalkpit Hill, School Lane, Station Road, Bifrons Hill, Bekesbourne Road, Town Hill, High Street, Bridge Hill, Bonny Bush Hill, Coldharbour Lane, A2 Dover Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St Stephen’s Hill, Canterbury, CT2 7BB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow heavy jetting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Stephen’s Hill, Canterbury, from 20:00 hours on 29th January 2025, with estimated completion by 06:30 hours on 30th January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Downs Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for St Stephen’s Hill is via St Stephen’s Hill, Canterbury Hill, Wood Hill, Hackington Road, Radfall Road, Radfall Hill, Chestfield Road, A2990 Thanet Way, A290 Clapham Hill, Pean Hill, Honey Hill, Blean Common, Tile Kiln Hill, Whitstable Road, St Thomas Hill, Whitstable Road, Forty Acres Road, Beaconsfield Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for traffic wishing to enter/exit Downs Road is via Tenterden Drive, Farleigh Road, Broad Oak Road, St Stephen’s Road, then follow diversion for St Stephen’s Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Chartham, CT4 7HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow rail inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Chartham, from 23:00 hours on 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 28th January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with The Green, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, The Green, Parish Road, Bolts Hill, Shalmsford Street, A28 Ashford Road, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Bridge, CT4 5AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Bridge, from 14th January 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Dover Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Dover Road, A2050 Dover Road, Old Dover Road, B2068 Nackington Road, Bridge Road and Station Road.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Station Road, Bridge Road, B2068 Nackington Road, Old Dover Road, A2050 Dover Road, A2 From J A2050 Patrixbourne To J A260/B2046 SE, Bifrons Hill, Bekesbourne Road and Town Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Thornden Close, Herne Bay, CT6 7RU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow footway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Thornden Close, Herne Bay, from 13th January 2025, with estimated completion by 17th January 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Greenhill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
