PUBLIC NOTICE

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (LIME STREET)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make
an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting
vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
· Lime Street closed in both directions at its junction with Owen Road. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate from 6 January 2025 until 13 January
2025. Vehicular Diversion Route: Owen Road, Merridale Street West, Ashland
Street and vice versa.
· Lime Street closed in both directions from its junction with Owen Road to its
junction with Ashland Street/Bristol Street. It is anticipated that the closure will
operate from 13 January 2025 until 27 January 2025. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Owen Road, Merridale Street West, Ashland Street and vice versa.
· Manlove Street closed in both directions at its junction with Lime Street. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate from 13 January 2025 until
20 January 2025. Vehicular diversion route: Owen Road and vice versa.
· Cardiff Street closed in both directions at its junction with Lime Street. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate from 20 January 2025 until 27 January
2025. Vehicular diversion route: Dalton Street, Owen Road, Merridale Street
West, Ashland Street and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates specified above.
The Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works by Cadent Gas.
