What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(A684 SEDBERGH ROAD, KENDAL)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the A684 Sedbergh Road, Kendal from its junction with Eller Raise, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and suitable alternative routes will be signed and available as follows:

South East Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted sections of Sedbergh Road, Castle Street, Ann Street, Wildman Street, Stramongate, New Road, Blackhall Road, Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Long Pool, Appleby Road and Sandylands Road.

North West Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted sections of Sedbergh Road, Sandylands Road, Appleby Road, Longpool, Wildman Street and Castle Street.

The Order will come into operation on 19th January 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
