Moorbrook Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

MOOR LANE AND MOORBROOK STREET, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 AND
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Moor Lane, Preston from its junction with North Road to its junction with Vernon Street.
2. The one-way prohibition on Moorbrook Street shall be temporarily revoked from its junction with Sizer Street to its junction with Moor Lane.
3. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to wait or unload at any time in the length of Moorbrook Street, Preston from its junction with North Road to its junction with Vernon Street.
4. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
5. The prohibition will be operative from 0600 hours on Monday 6th January 2025 until 2359 hours on Friday 28th February 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
6. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
7. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i) Walker Street – Lancaster Road – North Road.
ii) Melling Street – Lancaster Road – Walker Street.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow traffic signal upgrade works to be carried out.
