What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Halstock

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, HALSTOCK as follows;

YEOVIL ROAD, between Barretts House and Quiet Woman House, a distance of approximately 1590 metres.

CORSCOMBE ROAD, between Quiet Woman House and the entrance to Pondsmead House, a distance of approximately 650 metres.

C132, between its junction with Corscombe Road and its junction with Meredith Close, a distance of approximately 330 metres.

ADAM'S GREEN, between Quiet Woman House and the entrance to Portland Cottage, a distance of approximately 235 metres.

WATERY LANE, between its junction with Adam's Green and a point approximately 50 metres north east.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 06 January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 04 February 2025.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre cable installation.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.

Temporary Closure of C68, Parish of Loders

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along C68, PARISH OF LODERS as follows;

06 January 2025 until 10 January 2025 - Between its junction with Well Plot and Yondover Farm House, a distance of approximately 260 metres. 13 January 2025 until 24 January 2025 - Between its junction with New Road and 1, Shatcombe, a distance of approximately 365 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 06 January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 24 January 2025.

This Order will enable Giganet, safe access to lay ducting.

An alternative route will be signed using; A35 - A3066 - Townsend Way - Higher Street.

Temporary Closure of Ford Lane, Corscombe

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along FORD LANE, CORSCOMBE in its entirety, a distance of approximately 505 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 09 January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months.

This Order is required for health and safety reasons due to a landslip.

On this occasion there will be no specified alternative route for diverted traffic.
