Reading, Temporary Prohibitions Of Driving Due Water Works
What is happening?
WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(SULHAM HILL, SULHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Sulham Hill in Sulham between its junction with Nunhide Lane and its junction with Sulham Lane.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Sulham Hill, Chapel Hill, Lower Elmstone Drive, Overdown Road, A329 Oxford Road, A329 Reading Road, A329 Purley Rise, A329 Reading Road, A329 High Street, A340 Church Road, A340 Tidmarsh Road, A340 The Street, Mill Lane and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to install new mains and service connections. The proposed Order will come into effect on 21st January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 21st and 24th January 2025.
(PINCENTS KILN, CALCOT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Pincents Kiln in Calcot between the entrance to Ikea goods delivery and entrance to Turnhams Green Business Park.
There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order, therefore residents, business and blue light access will be maintained.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to install new mains and service connections. The proposed Order will come into effect on 22nd January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 22nd and 25th January 2025.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
