What is happening?

STEVENAGE BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BOROUGH OF STEVENAGE (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON DANESGATE AND DANESTRETE, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Stevenage Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) whilst works are in progress:

  1. That length of Danesgate, Stevenage from its junction with Danestrete westwards to its junction with Danesgate section running south to north.

    An alternative route will be via A602 – Lytton Way and Danestrete (Danesgate/A602-Lytton Way/Danestrete).

  2. That length of Danestrete, Stevenage from its junction with Southgate north-westwards to its junction with Danesgate.

    An alternative route will be via A602 – Lytton Way and Danestrete (Danesgate/A602/Danestrete).

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicular traffic will be prohibited from proceeding along that length of Danestrete, Stevenage from its junction with Southgate northwards to its junction with Danesgate in any other direction other than south-northwards.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 6 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

A copy of the Order may be inspected free of charge during normal opening hours at the Council’s offices in Daneshill House.
