What is happening?

West Sussex County Council

(Haywards Heath: Turners Mill Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Turners Mill Road in Haywards Heath, from its junction with Penlands Road, southwards for 240m. The Order also suspends the operation of the parking restriction on the same length of road to provide parking for residents at times when access to driveways may be restricted. The road closure is needed to maintain safety while maintenance to watermains is carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 2 January 2025 and remain in force until 24 February 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Worth: Turners Hill Road (B2028), A264 and Shipley

Bridge Lane) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, West Sussex County Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a 30 MPH speed limit on the A264 in Worth from its junction with Borers Arms Road, eastwards to its junction with Snow Hill, and on Turners Hill Road (B2028) from its junction with Mill Lane, southwards to the entrance to Barns Court.

The Order also enacts the temporary closure of Turners Hill

Road (B2028) from (a) its junction with the Dukes Head

Roundabout, northwards for 40m, and (b) from the Dukes Head Roundabout southwards for 20m, and Shipley Bridge Lane from its junction with Copthorne Bank, northwards for 130m. These road closures will be enacted in phases as works progress. These restrictions are needed to allow improvements to highway drainage and re-routing of utility services to be carried out. The Order will come into effect on 13 January 2025 and remain in force until 12 April 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Haywards Heath: The Broadway, Church Road and South Road)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, West Sussex County Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on Roads in Haywards Heath as follows:

Church Road: From its junction with The Broadway eastwards for 30m – closed to westbound traffic from 20 Jan 2025 to 6 June 2025

Phase 1:

The Broadway: Prohibition of right turn onto Muster Green South. South Road: suspension of parking bays on the southern side of the road from its junction with Muster Green South, eastwards for 75m. These restrictions apply from 20 January 2025 for 8 weeks.

Phase 2:

The Broadway: from its junction with Muster Green North northwards for 75m – closed to southbound traffic from 14 April 2025 for 3 weeks.

Phase 3:

South Road: parking suspended on northern side of the road from a point 60m east of its junction with Muster Green South, eastwards for 35m from 12 May 2025 for 4 weeks.

These restrictions are needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order is expected to operate on the dates listed above, but once made may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Bolney: Public Footpath 23Bo) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State has granted permission to extend the operation of the above Order made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which temporarily closed Public Footpath 23Bo in Bolney, from its junction with Bolney Chapel Road eastwards and northwards to its junction with Public Footpath 24Bo.

The continued closure of this route is needed to maintain public safety following the collapse of a footbridge and during the installation of a replacement bridge.

The extended Order will remain in operation until 6 January 2026, or until works to replace the footbridge are completed, whichever is earlier.

Unfortunately, during the operative period of the order, no direct alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.
