M26 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 2a)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M26 Motorway in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on and in the vicinity of the road by contractors working for UKPN.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closures of the exit slip roads at M26 Junction 2A(A20).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake electrical cabling works and all associated works.

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 1 month starting on or after Monday 27th January 2025.

The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 05:30 (maximum periods). Please consult National Highways website for further details.

The Order would come into force on 25th January 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Traffic affected by the eastbound closure would be diverted via the M20 to Junction 4 and return.

Traffic effected by the westbound closure would be pre-diverted via the M20 Junction 4, A228 and A20 to M26 Junction 2a or via the M25 Junction 6 & return.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
