Hamsterley Hall, Hamsterley Mill, Durham - Temporary Footpath Closure due to Works

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023
The above-named Order made by the Council on 13/10/2023, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 23/10/23 and was subsequently extended to 31/12/2024 has been continued in force from 1/1/2025, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 31/12/2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily close to all pedestrian traffic
A. A 44-metre length of Public Rights of Way Footpath Number 65 Consett, that extends south easterly from its junction with Public Rights of Way Byway Number 65 near Hamsterley Hall, and also;
B. A 13-metre length of Public Rights of Way Footpath Number 173 Stanley, between its junctions with Consett Footpath Number 65 and Stanley Footpath Number 175.
An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the western side of the closure, from southwest of the closure point on Byway Number 65, via Consett Footpath Number 65 (southern section) across the footbridge onto Stanley Footpath Number 177, then north onto Stanley Footpath Number 175, to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
