What is happening?

The Metropolitan Borough Council Of Stockport 

(Lomas Street Edgeley, Caroline Street Edgeley And Heathbank Road Cheadle Hulme) (Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Notice 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Lomas Street, Edgeley for the full Length.

Diversion via Worral Street/Mercian Way & Castle Street. 

Caroline Street, Edgeley for the full Length. Diversion via Worral Street/Mercian Way & Castle Street.

 Heathbank Road, Cheadle Hulme, Highfield Road to Hulme Hall Road. Diversion via Hulme Hall Road/Turves Road & Highfield Road whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. 

This Order is necessary because road repair works as part of the highways maintenance programme are being, or are proposed to be executed.

It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be up to 26 weeks. 

This Order is to come into operation on the 10 January 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: ZA/6172584
