Broadway, Cheadle - Temporary Restrictions of Traffic For Realignment And Footway Reconstruction

(Broadway, Cheadle) (Temporary One Way Traffic) Order 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce Temporary One Way Traffic at Broadway, Cheadle One-way westbound closure from the junction of Wilmslow Road to approx.
5m west of the junction of Brookfield Crescent, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow kerb realignment and footway reconstruction at the junction of Brookfield Crescent. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be fourteen days.
Alternative routes will be provided via :
Wilmslow Road, Gatley Road, Kingsway and Broadway (Northbound Diversion) & Wilmslow Road, Schools Hill, Daylesford Road, Barcheston Road and Broadway (Southbound Diversion).
Pedestrian access will be maintained and there will be an exemption for emergency vehicles & pedal cycles.
This Order is to come into operation on the 7th of March 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: MM/6047606.
