What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(OGLETHORPE ROAD, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF MAKING

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate essential gas works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

  2. The order is expected to come into effect on Monday 20 January 2025.

    The works expected for:

    • Gas works to take 8 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 27 January 2025 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00am and 11.59pm.

      However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

  3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:

    • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Oglethorpe Road, both sides, from a point 2 metres north of the common boundary of Nos. 27 & 29 Oglethorpe Road to a point 1.5 metres south of the common boundary of Nos. 51 & 53 Oglethorpe Road – a distance of 50 metres.
    • Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Oglethorpe Road:

      • Both sides, from its junction with Heathway to a point 1.5 metres south of the common boundary of Nos. 51 & 53 Oglethorpe Road.
      • Both sides, from its junction with Wood Lane (A124) to a point 2 metres north of the common boundary of Nos. 27 & 29 Oglethorpe Road.
    • Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone HWS Mon–Fri 8.30am–5.30pm bays at the following locations:

      • Oglethorpe Road, east side, fronting Nos. 27–39 Oglethorpe Road.
      • Oglethorpe Road, east side, fronting Nos. 41–51 Oglethorpe Road.
      • Oglethorpe Road, west side, from a point opposite the northern property boundary of No. 27 Oglethorpe Road, for a distance of 9 metres in a southerly direction.
      • Oglethorpe Road, west side, from a point 0.5 metres north of the southern property boundary of No. 28 Oglethorpe Road, for a distance of 12 metres in a southerly direction.
      • Oglethorpe Road, west side, from a point 7.7 metres south of the extended property boundary of Nos. 39 & 41 Oglethorpe Road to a point 0.5 metres south of the northern property boundary of No. 54 Oglethorpe Road.
    • Suspend Disabled Blue Badge Holders Only bay at the following location:

      • Oglethorpe Road, west side, from a point 2.5 metres south of the extended property boundary of Nos. 39 & 41 Oglethorpe Road, southwards for a distance of 5.2 metres.
    • Prohibit all pedestrians on Oglethorpe Road:

      • West side footpath, from point 2 metres south of the extended common boundary of Nos. 27 & 29 Oglethorpe Road, for a distance of 22 metres.
      • West side footpath, from a point 13 metres north of the northern property boundary of No. 54 Oglethorpe Road, for a distance of 18 metres.
    • Designate a temporary Disabled Blue Badge Holders Only bay while the works are taking place at the following location:

      • Oglethorpe Road, west side, from a point 0.5 metres south of the southern property boundary of No. 54 Oglethorpe Road, northwards for a distance of 5.2 metres.
  4. Alternative routes for pedestrians will be maintained and signed:

    • Via Oglethorpe Road east side footway.
  5. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

    • Via Oglethorpe Road, Wood Lane (A124), Heathway and Vice Versa.
