What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Cannon Street, Dover, CT16 1BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cannon Street, Dover, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 2. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via King Street, Queen Street, A256 York Street, A256 Priory Road, B2245 Ladywell, B2245 Park Place, B2245 Park Street, A256 Maison Dieu Road and Pencester Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ellens Road, Deal (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellens Road, Deal, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside The Firs to approximately 50m South of Whitebeam, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ellens Road, Station Road, Court Road, Salisbury Road, St Richards Road, Mongeham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hammill Road, Woodnesborough, CT13 0FH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hammill Road, Woodnesborough, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Selson Lane and Drainless Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hammill Road, Sandwich Road, Heronden Road, Gore Lane, Woodnesborough Lane, Foxborough Hill, Drainless Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Street, Sandwich, CT13 0WU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Sandwich, on or after 23rd January 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 30, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Quay, Knightrider Street, Sandown Road, St Georges Road, New Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Northwall Road, Deal, CT14 6PW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northwall Road, Deal, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 31 to number 33, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Old Charlton Road & Connaught Road, Dover, CT16 2PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Old Charlton Road & Connaught Road, Dover, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only.

Old Charlton Road will be closed between the junctions of Connaught Road and Roman Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Connaught Road will be closed between the junctions of Old Charlton Road and Park Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Old Charlton Road, Dover Road, A258 Castle Hill Road, Connaught Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Queens Road, Ash, CT3 2AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Queens Road, Ash, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Chilton Field for approximately 151m North, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Queens Road, The Street, Chequer Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sandown Road, Sandwich, CT13 9NZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandown Road, Sandwich, on or after 6th January 2025 until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Guilford Road and Sandown Lees, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Leonards Road, Deal, CT14 9AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Leonards Road, Deal, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Leas Road and A258 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Leonards Road, B2056 Manor Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Marys Road, Walmer, CT14 7NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Marys Road, Walmer, on or after 22nd January 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of The Shrubbery and St Mildreds Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Marys Road, Walmer Castle Road, St Clare Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Strand Street, Sandwich, CT13 9DJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Strand Street, Sandwich, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Cottage Row and Church Street St Mary, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Strand Street, Ash Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A258 Deal Road, Deal Road, Dover Road, New Street, Cattle Market and Harnet Street.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Strand Street, High Street, The Chain, Galliard Street, New Street, Dover Road, Deal Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass and Ash Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Weddington Lane, Ash, CT3 2AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Weddington Lane, Ash, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Lower Weddington Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Weddington Lane, Cop Street, A257 Ash Bypass and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
