Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
Benenden Road, Biddenden. (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on part of Benenden Road, Biddenden, from 20th January 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on Bendenden Road, Biddenden will be imposed outside number 6 Woolpack Corner, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Bower Road, Mersham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow overhead structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bower Road, Mersham, from 7th January 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Cherry Glebe, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, A20 Hythe Road and Station Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Charing Heath Road, Charing, TN27 0BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charing Heath Road, Charing, from 23rd January 2025, with estimated completion by 24th January 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Wind Hill Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Egerton Road, Tile Lodge Road, Charing Heath Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Station Road, Pluckley Road, Charing Heath Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Lane, Aldington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow concrete repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Aldington. A closure is planned from 6th January 2025 for up to one night, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00. A further closure will take place from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 8th February 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the M20 bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Roman Road, B2067 Aldington Road, Otterpool Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Main Road (Ashford Road), Hythe Road, Church Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Road, Willesborough, TN24 0YR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Willesborough, from 20th January 2025 with estimated completion by 24th January 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 01:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Highfield Lane and Sevington Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A292 Hythe Road, Hunter Road, Aylesford Place and Bentley Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Coldharbour Lane & Scotton Street, Wye, TN25 5DB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Coldharbour Lane & Scotton Street, Wye, from 7th January 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed between the junctions with High Street/Upper Bridge Street and Amage Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Upper Bridge Street, Oxenturn Road, Naccolt Road, Spelders Hill, Nats Lane, The Street, Amage Road, Coldharbour Lane, Little Olantigh Road, Scotton Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hamstreet Road, Hamstreet. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hamstreet Road, Hamstreet, from 8th January 2025, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Church Road and Bromley Green Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bromley Green Road, Stone Cross Road, Frith Road, Roman Road, B2067 Knoll Hill, B2067 Bonnington Road, B2067 Ruckinge Road, B2067 Bilsington Road, B2067 Hamstreet Road, B2067 Ashford Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lees Road, Brabourne, TN25 6PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lees Road, Brabourne, from 10th January 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bircholt Corner Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manor Pound Lane, Canterbury Road, Plain Road, Bridge Road, Lees Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lovelace Court, Bethersden, TN26 3AJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow manhole frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lovelace Court, Bethersden, from 19:00 hours on 21st January 2025, with estimated completion by 06:00 hours on 22nd January 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 5, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
New Road Hill, Bonnington, TN25 7BA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Road Hill, Bonnington, from 10th January 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Annexe, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via New Road Hill, Boat Lane, B2067 Bonnington Road, New Road Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Pluckley Road, Pluckley, TN27 0SA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow tree works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Pluckley, from 6th January 2025 for up to one day, between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Catchpole and Rye, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Surenden Road, Sparrow Hatch Lane, Bethersden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sole Street, Crundale, CT4 7ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sole Street, Crundale, from 21st January 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Thornham Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sole Street, D1348 Sole Street Junction With D1351 Church Lane To D1349 Sole Street Junction With D1352 Church Lane (Denwood Street) and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
