What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 CHANCERY ROAD, WEST END ROAD AND B1075 PRINCES STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the:

  • A137 Chancery Road, Ipswich from Princes Street to West End Road
  • A137 West End Road, Ipswich from Chancery Road for 127 metres westbound
  • B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Civic Drive

This is to facilitate preventing disorder and safely controlling crowd movement during a football game. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Burrell Road, Stoke Street, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Handford Road, Ranelagh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/12/2024 from 6 pm - 11 pm, but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE C441 HENLEY ROAD, AKENHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for a temporary 30 mph speed restriction on the C441 Henley Road, Akenham from 230 metres north of Footpath 13 for 400 metres northbound to facilitate safe operations during construction works.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that this measure will operate from 08/01/2025 - 06/11/2025, but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C964 RAVENSMERE, BECCLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C964 Ravensmere, Beccles from the junction with Bridge Street to the junction with Pound Road to facilitate the replacement of a telecommunications pole. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bridge Street, Gillingham Dam, Loddon Road, Norwich Road, George Westwood Way, Station Road, Newgate, Blyburgate, Peddars Lane, St Marys Road, Ballygate, New Market, The Walk and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 08/01/2025, but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 15, HADLEIGH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the Footpath 15, Hadleigh at Aldham Mill Footbridge for safety reasons due to an unsafe bridge. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Aldham Mill Lane, Footpath 17 and vice versa.

This order continues in force the emergency measures operating since 09/12/2024.

It is intended that the closure will operate until 08/06/2025 (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF BYWAYS 16 AND 23, CHEVINGTON AND HARGRAVE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing Byway 16, Chevington from 310 metres south of the junction with Depden Lane for 27 metres southbound and Byway 23, Hargrave from Byway 16, Chevington for 60 metres southbound for safety reasons due to damage to the byway surface. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

This order continues in force the emergency measures operating since 09/12/2024.

It is intended that the closure will operate until 08/06/2025 (or longer if extended by the Minister).
