ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Framfield 65a and Uckfield 38)

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024

To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 21 June 2024 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpath Framfield 65a will be closed to all users between TQ 4830 1954 and TQ 4832 1960.

The whole of Public Footpath Uckfield 38 will be closed to all users between TQ 4824 1934 and TQ 4830 1954.

Unfortunately, there is no alternative route.

The closure will be in force for 18 months from 1 January 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U5996 Spatham Lane, Westmeston)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Spatham Lane – from the junction with C71 Folders Lane East to Loan Oak Farm.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C71 Folders Lane East – B2112 Common Lane, North End, High Street – B2116 Lewes Road – U5996 Spatham Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7403 Layby Old A22, Halland)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Layby Old A22 – from the junction with A22 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7403 Bradfords Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Eastbourne Road – U7403 Bradfords Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 January and 2 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U5824 Telscombe Cliffs Way, Telscombe Cliffs)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow MBNL to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Telscombe Cliffs Way – from the junction with A259 South Coast Road to the junction with U5853 St Peters Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 South Coast Road – U5861 Sutton Avenue – U5916 Roderick Avenue – U5845 Heathy Brow – U5931 Ambleside Avenue – U5921 Kirby Drive – U5824 Telscombe Cliffs Way and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C331 Church Lane, Ripe)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Lane – from the junction with C331 The Street to the junction with U7045 Church Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C331 The Street – C13 Mark Cross Lane, Mill Lane – B2124 Lewes Road – A22 Holmes Hill, Golden Cross – C207 Chalvington Road – C331 Church Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:30hrs on 15 and 16 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A22 Uckfield Bypass, Uckfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Uckfield Bypass – from the junction with A22 Copwood roundabout to the junction with A22 Little Horsted roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Uckfield bypass, Eastbourne Road – B2192 Heathfield Road, Lewes Road – B2102 High Street, Framfield Road, Blackboys Road, The Street, Hammonds Green, Bird in Eye Hill, Framfield Road, New Town, High Street, Bell Lane, Bell Farm Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs on 10 and 11 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C411 Station Road, Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Station Road – from the junction with U7210 Bellbanks Lane to the junction with U7213 Swan Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via C411 Station Road – A295 George Street, North Street, High Street – C718 Market Square, Market Street, Mill Road, Old Swan Lane – C411 Station Road and northbound via C411 Station Road – C718 Old Swan Lane, Mill Road, Market Street, Market Square – A295 George Street – C411 Station Road.

The Order commences 13 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 and 20 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2096 Cade Street/Battle Road, Heathfield/Punnetts Town/Warbleton)

(Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 40 mph:

Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit

Cade Street/Battle Road – from the junction with C406 School Hill to North Lodge and from Kemps Farmhouse to Three Cups Corner.

The Order commences 2 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 2 January and 5 April 2025.

The East Sussex (U5008 School Path, Barcombe Cross)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

School Path – from the junction with C8 School Hill to the junction with P5033 School Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 2 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 and 3 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C13 Scallows Lane, East Hoathly)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Scallows Lane – from the junction with C13 Moat Lane to the junction with U7027 Laundry Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C328 Foxhunt Green – C208 Rocks Lane, The Street, Possingworth Lane – B2102 Lewes Road – B2192 Lewes Road, Heathfield Road – A22 Eastbourne Road – C59 London Road – C13 Waldron Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 27 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 27 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2096 Battle Road/Cade Street/Earls Down, Heathfield/Chapel Cross/Punnetts Town/Warbleton/Dallington, C598 Old Heathfield Road, Heathfield, U7911/U7910 Blackdown Lane/ Forest Lane, Punnetts Town, U7599 Bakery Lane, Punnetts Town & U7598 North Street, Punnetts Town)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Battle Road/Cade Street/Earls Down – from the junction with A265 Burwash Road to the junction with C279 Rookery Lane.

Diversion via B2096 Carricks Hill, Battle Road, Darwell Hill, Kane Heath Road – A271 Beechdown Wood,

Kitchenham Road, Boreham Hill, The Strait, Windmill Hill Road, Gardner Street, Hailsham Road, New Road, Amberstone, Hawkswood Road, Upper Horsebridge, Lower Horsebridge – B2104 North Street – A267 North Street, Horam Road, High Street – B2203 Maynards Green Road, Hailsham Road, Tower Street – A265 Burwash Road and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 January and 28 February 2025 and between 24 April and 20 September 2025.

Old Heathfield Road – from the junction with B2096 Cade Street to the junction with C406 School Hill.

Diversion via C406 School Hill – B2096 Cade Street and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 23 July and 22 August 2025.

Blackdown Lane/Forest Lane – from the junction with B2096 Battle Road to Sunny Slope. Diversion via U7911 Mill Lane – U7598 North Street – B2096 Battle Road and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 25 January and 7 July 2025.

Bakery Lane – from the junction with B2096 Battle Road to the junction with U7599 Flitterbrook Lane.

Diversion via U7599 Flitterbrook Lane – B2096 Battle Road and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 25 January and 7 July 2025.

North Street – from the junction with B2096 Battle Road to the junction with U7911 Mill Lane. Diversion via U7911 Mill Lane, Blackdown Lane – B2096 Battle Road and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 25 January and 7 July 2025.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with alternative routes for through traffic as set out above.

The Order commences 2 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken at various dates between 2 January and 20 September 2025 as set out above depending upon the weather conditions.
