ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(COMMON LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 6) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow bridge inspection on behalf of Network Rail to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Common Lane, Wakefield from its junction with Shay Lane, travelling south of Common Lane for approximately 171 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Common Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Chevet Lane, Walton Station Lane, Greenside, Common Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 13th January 2025 at 22:00 hours until 15th January 2025 at 06:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(TRILBY STREET, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 9) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow replacement of manhole frame and cover works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Trilby Street, Wakefield for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Trilby Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Upper Warrengate, Stanley Road and vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including13th January 2025 at 09:30 hours until 13th January 2025 at 13:30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(SOUTH TERRACE, OSSETT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 12) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace a manhole cover & frame to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: South Terrace, Ossett at the junction with Horbury Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of South Terrace.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: South Terrace, Sowood Avenue, Storrs Hill Road, Horbury Road & vice versa. The one way section on Sowood Avenue near the junction with Storrs Hill Road will be suspended for the duration of the works. No parking will be enforced within the one way section to allow temporary 2 way traffic for the duration of the works only.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 14th January 2025 at 09.30 hours to 13.30 hours, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(INGS ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 13) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow bridge safety inspection works to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ings Road, Wakefield near the Junction with Thornes Lane for approximately 170 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ings Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Diversion route from Doncaster Road to Ings Road will be: Doncaster Road, Kirkgate, Kirkgate roundabout, Kirkgate, Ings Road, and vice versa. The diversion route from Thornes Lane to Ings Road will be: Thornes Lane, Doncaster Road, Kirkgate, Kirkgate roundabout, Ings Road. The diversion from Thornes Lane to Doncaster Road will be: Thornes Lane, Doncaster Road, Kirkgate, Kirkgate roundabout, Doncaster Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 13th January 2025 at 22:00 hours until 14th January 2025 at 06:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(KEEPER LANE, NOTTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 15) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow works to undertake test rod & rope & install sub duct into fibre infrastructure as part of the fibre to home scheme to be carried out as follows:–
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Keeper Lane, Notton from its junction with Barnsley Road to its junction with George Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Keeper Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: George Lane, Barnsley Road, Keeper Lane and vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 15th January 2025 at 08:00 hours until 16th January 2025 at 18:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(GEORGE LANE, NOTTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 7) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow replacement of manhole frame and cover works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: George Lane, Notton for approximately 100 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of George Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: High Street, Lee Lane, A61 Wakefield Road, A61 Barnsley Road and vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 13th January 2025 at 19:00 hours until 13th January 2025 at 23:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BROOK STREET, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 3) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate and repair sewer to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Brook Street, Wakefield between 37 Brook Street and 23 Brook Street. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Brook Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Westmorland Street, Union Street & Craven Street.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 6th January 2025 to 13th January 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(ESKDALE ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 4) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for excavation on behalf of Northern Powergrid to upgrade electrical infrastructure to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Eskdale Road, Wakefield for approximately 7 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Eskdale Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Rydal Drive, Keswick Drive, Grasmere Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 7th January 2025 to 13th January 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 8) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow replacement of manhole frame and cover works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Favell Avenue, Normanton at the side of 71 Dalefield Road to the side of 74 Firville Avenue, for approximately 40 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Favell Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Snydale Road, Whin Mount, Dalefield Road and vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 14th January 2025 at 19:00 hours until 14th January 2025 at 23:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
