Kielder, Diversion Order For Public Footpath

What is happening?

Notice of Public Path Diversion Order Highways Act 1980 Northumberland County Council Parish of Falstone (Public Footpath No 23) Diversion Order (No 1) 2024

The above Order was made on 11th December 2024, under section 119 of the Highways Act, 1980.

The effect of the Order will be as follows:-

Public Footpath No 23 (Parish of Falstone)

To extinguish the footpath from a point 1265 metres north-east of the entrance to the Calvert Trust off the C200 road (OS grid ref: NY 6768 8642) in a generally easterly direction for a distance of 245 metres to point 1500 metres north-east of the entrance to the Calvert Trust off the C200 road (NY 6789 8650).

To extinguish the footpath from a point 1545 metres north-east of the entrance to the Calvert Trust off the C200 road (NY 6794 8650) in a generally easterly direction for a distance of 1105 metres to a point 845 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6898 8675).

To extinguish the footpath from a point 1010 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6882 8690) in a general westerly, easterly then northerly direction for a distance of 170 metres to point 935 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6891 8698).

To extinguish the footpath from a point 950 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6890 8704) in a northerly then westerly direction for a distance of 525 metres to a point 1305 metres north-west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6860 8730).

To extinguish the footpath from a point 1360 metres north-west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6854 8730) in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 160 metres to point 1520 metres north-west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6840 8737).

To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 1265 metres north-east of the entrance to the Calvert Trust, off the C200 road (NY 6768 8642) in a northerly direction for 110 metres then in a general easterly direction for a distance of 245 metres to point 1500 metres northeast of the entrance to the Calvert Trust, off the C200 road (NY 6789 8650).

To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 1545 metres north-east of the entrance to the Calvert Trust, off the C200 road (NY 6794 8650) in a generally easterly direction for a distance of 1105 metres to a point 845 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6898 8675).

To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 1010 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6882 8690) in a northerly direction for a distance of 30 metres, then in an easterly direction for a distance of 145 metres then continuing in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 90 metres to a point 935 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6891 8698).

To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 950 metres west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6890 8704) in a northerly then westerly direction for a distance of 510 metres to a point 1305 metres north-west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6860 8730). To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 1360 metres north-west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6854 8730) in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 185 metres to point 1520 metres north-west of Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (NY 6840 8737). These details are shown on the Order maps.
