What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Various Roads, Borough of Castle Point) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.16) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Castle Point as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 12th December 2024 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Basildon as specified in the schedule to this Order.

(Wash Road, Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wash Road, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Noak Hill Road to its junction with Cavendish Way a distance of approximately 210m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th January 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (NK103DIS162342 -Virgin Media). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway blockage works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

An alternative route is available via Wash Road, South Wash Road, Noak Hill Road Roundabout, Noak Hill Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
