What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BURNS ROAD, ROYSTON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Burns Road, Royston from its junction with Shakespeare north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN B1039 ROYSTON ROAD, BARLEY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1039 Royston Road, Barley from a point 300m north east of its junction with B1039 Barkway Road south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1718m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B1039 (Royston Road/Barkway Road), A10 Barkway Street/Market Hill/Priory Lane/ Melbourn Road), A505 (Royston Bypass/Newmarket Road), B1368 (Barley Road/Cambridge Road) and B1039 Royston Road or via B1039 Royston Road, B1368 (Cambridge Road/Barley Road), A505 (Newmarket Road/Royston Bypass), A10 (Melbourn Road/Priory Lane) and B1039 (Barkway Road/Royston Road).
