Glanvilles Wootton - Temporary Closure to Undertake Fibre Cable Installation

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of B3146, Glanvilles Wootton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3146, GLANVILLES WOOTTON between Kennels Lane and Spring Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1900 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 24 January 2025. These works will not commence until the temporary road closure on Spring Lane has been completed.

This Order will provide Wessex Internet with a safe working area to undertake Fibre cable installation.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using B3146, A352, A3030, B3143 and vice versa.
