City Of Bristol 

(Redcliffe Way (Bascule Bridge). Redcliffe. Bristol) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use Byvehicles And Foot Passengers) (Temporary Suspension Of Reserved Bus Lane) Order 2025  

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be:- 

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Redcliffe Way (Bascule Bridge) from The Grove/Welsh Back to Redcliffe Way roundabout; 

2. to close, temporarily, to pedestrians that length of Redcliffe Way (Bascule Bridge) from The Grove/Welsh Back eastwards to Redcliff Backs; and 

3. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the existing bus lanes in:- 

(a) eastbound Baldwin Street then into south eastbound Bristol Bridge and Victoria Street; and 

(b) north westbound Victoria Street and Bristol Bridge then into westbound Baldwin Street - so as to give effect to the alternative routes. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 20th January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 20th January 2025 and 7th February 2025). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES : 
Vehicles - eastbound: The Grove, Prince Street, Marsh Street, Baldwin Street, Bristol Bridge, Victoria Street, Temple Gate, Bath Bridge Roundabout, Temple Gate, Redcliffe Way Roundabout 

westbound: Redcliffe Way Roundabout, Temple Gate, Victoria Street, Bristol Bridge, Baldwin Street, Marsh Street, Prince Street, The Grove 

Pedestrians - Bell Avenue, Queen Square, Queen Square Footpaths, Queen Square, Thunderbolt Square, King Street, Prince Street, Marsh Street, Baldwin Street, Bristol Bridge, Victoria Street, Redcliff Street, Redcliffe Way (part unaffected) and vice versa 


(Gas Lane. St. Philips. Bristol) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Gas Lane which extends from Freestone Road to Oxford Street. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 17th January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 17th January 2025 and 14th July 2026). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Gas Lane (part unaffected), Kingsland Road, Midland Road, Horton Street, New Kingsley Road, Avon Street, Oxford Street and vice versa 


(Barnstaple Road And Filwood Broadway, Knowle. Bristol)  (Temporary Restriction Of Waiting) Order 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to restrict, temporarily, any vehicle waiting on Monday to Friday (inclusive) in those lengths of roads as specified in the Schedule to this Notice (subject to specified exemptions). 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 13th January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 13th January 2025 and 17th AprIl 2025). 

SCHEDULE - Temporary Restriction of Waiting 
Barnstaple Road - north side: from Kinvara Road westwards for 55 metres south side:  
- (a) from Filwood Broadway to Patricia Filer Road 
(b) from Patricia Filer Road westwards for 17 metres 

Filwood Broadway - west side of the westernmost carriageway: from a point 17 metres north of Hartcliffe Road northwards for 27 metres 

(Princess Victoria Street. Clifton. Bristol) (Temporary Prohibition  Of Use By Vehicles) (Temporary Suspension Of One Way Traffic)  (Temporary Suspension Of Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be :- 

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Princess Victoria Street which extends from Waterloo Street to Regent Street; and 

2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the existing :- (a) one way traffic working north eastwards in Princess Victoria Street between Waterloo Street and Regent Street; and 

(b) the prohibition of driving in Princess Victoria Street between Waterloo Street and Regent Street - 

so as to allow access and egress for works vehicles. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 15th January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 15th January 2025 and 15th May 2025). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: 

Vehicles (north eastbound): Waterloo Street, Portland Street, Clifton Down Road, Regent Street 

Pedal cycles (south westbound): Regent Street, Royal York Crescent, Sion Hill, Princess Victoria Street (part unaffected) 


(Various Roads. Por1way (A4) Area. Clifton. Hotwells. Sea Mills And  Shirehampton, Bristol) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles)  (Temporary Suspension Of Weight Limit) Order 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be :- 

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and 

2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the prohibition of vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum gross weight limit in operation in lengths of High Street, Lower High Street, Park Hill, Park Road and Shirehampton Road, so as to give effect to the alternative routes as a consequence of item 1. above. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 13th January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which will occur in three phases that are anticipated to take place between the dates and times specified In Schedule 2 to this Notice).

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be: 

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and 

2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered :- 

(a) the existing one way traffic working in a southerly direction in Temple Street, which extends from Water Lane to Victoria Street; and 

(b) the existing cycle lane working in a northerly direction in Temple Street, which extends from Victoria Street to Water Lane - so as to allow access and egress for vehicles. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 13th January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between the dates and times specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: 

North westbound: Temple Way, Old Market Street Roundabout, Old Market Street, (Tower Hill, Passage Street, Counterslip (part unaffected)), Lower Castle Street, Broad Weir, New ate, Wine Street, High Street, Baldwin Street 

South eastbound: Baldwin Street, Marsh Street, Prince Street, The Grove, Redcliffe Way, (Redcliff Street (part unaffected)), (Phippen Street, St. Thomas Street (part unaffected), Mitchell Lane (part unaffected), St. Thomas Street East (part unaffected)), Temple Gate 

SCHEDULE 1- Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles  

1. Bath Street -  from Victoria Street north eastwards for 10 metres 
2. Bristol Bridge -  from Victoria Street to Baldwin Street 
3. Church Lane -  from Victoria Street north eastwards for 15 metres 
4. Counterslip -  from Victoria Street north eastwards for 40 metres 
5. Mitchell Lane -  from Victoria Street south westwards for 30 metres 
6. Redcliff Street -  from Victoria Street south westwards for 25 metres 
7. St. Thomas Street -  from Victoria Street southwards for 20 metres 
8. St. Thomas Street East -  from Victoria Street south westwards for 15 metres

SCHEDULE 2 - Durations 

1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 &10. - Each temporary closure will be implemented on multiple occasions within the period between 13th January 2025 and 12th July 2026 

4 & 11. - Overnight closures between 8.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m. from 5th December 2025 to 16th January 2026
