What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Blois Road/Broad Green, Steeple Bumpstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024                                                                                            Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Blois Road/Broad Green, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Haverhill Road to the junction with Maltings Lane a distance of approximately 1180m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th January 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2363061 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Broad Green, Blois Road, New England Road, Boreham Place, Sturmer Road, Rowley Hill, The Street, Rowley Hill, Haverhill Bypass, Bumpstead Road Roundabout, Bumpstead Road, Haverhill Road and vice versa. The Order came into effect on 13th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Camps Road, Helions Bumpstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024                                                                                                                    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Camps Road, Helions Bumpstead in the District of Braintree from a point approximately 195m north of its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 130m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th January 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30014071576 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while transformer upgrade works are undertaken by UK Power Networks. An alternative route is available via Church Hill, Mill Road, Haverhill Road, Wiggens Green, Copy Hill, Helions Bumpstead Road, Haverhill Bypass, Burton End, Nosterfield End, New Road, Main Street and vice versa (with access only into Camps Road, Drapers Green, Park Lane and Bartlow Road). The Order came into effect on 13th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Copy Hill, Helions Bumpstead) (Temporary Introduction of 40 MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2024                                                                                      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40MPH speed restriction in that length of Copy Hill, Helions Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 1765m north east of the junction with Steeple Bumpstead Road for a distance approximately 1045m in a northerly direction to the Suffolk Border. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 6th January 2025 for 47 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01461886011/1B – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water mains installation works are undertaken by Anglian Water. The Order came into effect on 13th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Haverhill Road/North Street & The Endway, Steeple Bumpstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024                                                                    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.                    1. To temporarily close that length of Haverhill Road, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Blois Road for a distance of approximately 385m in a north westerly, north easterly then north westerly direction.                                                                                                                      2. To temporarily close that length of North Street, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Haverhill Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction.                                                  3. To temporarily close that length of The Endway, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Haverhill Road for a distance of approximately 85m in north easterly direction.                                                        The closures are scheduled to commence on 6th January 2025 for 47 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01461886011/1 & /6 /7 – Anglian Water) in phases. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water. An alternative route is available via Bumpstead Road Roundabout, Haverhill Bypass, Rowley Hill Roundabout, Rowley Hill, The Street, Rowley Hill, Sturmer Road, Boreham Place, New England Road, Blois Road, Fell Road, Broad Green, Blois Road and vice versa (with access only into Bumpstead Road, Haverhill Road to the north and Hill Road, Sturmer Road and The Endway from the north east) The Order came into effect on 13th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Water Lane/Kedington Road, Sturmer) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024                                                                                                              Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water Lane/Kedington Road, Sturmer in the District of Braintree, from the junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 815m in a north westerly direction to the Suffolk border. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd January 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2376795 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ditch clearance works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via The Street, Rowley Hill, Rowley Hill Roundabout, Rowley Hill, Sturmer Road, Ehringshausen Way, Lordscroft Lane, Cangle Road, Wratting Road, Haverhill Road, Mill Lane and vice versa (with access only into Haverhill Road, Dane Common, Sturmer Road, Calford Green and Kedington Road). The Order came into effect on 13th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
