What is happening?
12 January 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Wellington Way (D3912) Weybridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Wellington Way (D3912) Weybridge which extends from its junction with Brooklands Road (B374) to the northwestern property boundary line of “1 The Heights”.
Alternative Route – Wellington Way (D3912), Sopwith Drive (A318), Parvis Road (A245), Brooklands Road (B374) and Wellington Way (D3912).
This Order is required to allow Centurion to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:00am and 6:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road in specified above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or for preventing such danger from arising and/or preventing damage to the road. All vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route including emergency vehicles and residents.
Various Roads in Cranleigh and Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Schedule
1. that length of D192 Barhatch Road, Cranleigh which extends from its junction with Barhatch Lane to its junction with Bookhurst Road. Alternative Route – D191 Amlets Lane, D182 Horseshoe Lane, B2128 High Street and B2127 Ewhurst Road;
2. (a) the entire length of D192 Windmill Plain, Ewhurst; (b) the entire length of D192 Horseblock Hollow, Cranleigh; and (c) the entire length of D192 Barhatch Lane, Cranleigh. Alternative Route – C46 Mill Hollow, C46 Pitch Hill, C46 Shere Road, B2127 The Street, B2127 Cranleigh Road, B2127 Bookhurst Road and D192 Barhatch Road.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) Public Footpath No. 557 & Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT) 517 (Albury); Footpath No. 35 (Guildford), BOAT 514 (Shere) and Footpath No. 556 (St Martha) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 28 June 2024 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:
i) Footpath No. 557 (Albury) from (Grid Ref. 504151 148766) in a southerly direction for approximately 20 metres to (Grid Ref. 504149 148750)
ii) BOAT 517 (Albury) from (Grid ref. 504630 148649) in a southerly direction for approximately 10 metres to (Grid ref. 504631 148637) iii) Public Footpath 35 (Guildford) from (Grid ref. 500823 149003) in a south easterly direction for approximately 15 metres to (Grid ref. 500836 148994).
iv) BOAT 514 (Shere) from (Grid Ref. 507245 148283) in a southerly direction for approximately 140 metres to (Grid Ref. 507270 148146).
v) Footpath 556 (St Martha) from (Grid ref. 503390 148782) in a northerly direction for approximately 15 metres to (Grid Ref. 503389 148788)
The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to the installation of a water pipeline from Guildford to Shere, which crosses the above-mentioned rights of way. It was in operation from 28 June until 28 December 2024 and has now been extended in force by the Secretary of State until 29 December 2025 or when works are completed, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when this appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
Short alternative routes within 20 metres of the definitive line of the paths will be provided and these will be indicated by signage on site. For the BOAT 517 (Albury) the alternative is for pedestrians only; for BOAT 514 (Shere), there is no suggested alternative for motorised vehicles.
