What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Pidley Sheep Lane, Pidley

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 25-005

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Pidley Sheep Lane as lies between High Street and St Ives Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1086 – B1089 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January 2025 and 24 January 2025.

Station Lane, Offord Cluny

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-006

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Lane, Offord Cluny as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1043 – Mill Lane, St Neots – B1041 – A1 – High Street, Buckden – Church Street – Mill Road – Station Lane – Station Lane, Offord Cluny and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 22:35hrs 11 January and 06:00hrs 12 January 2025.

Long Drove (B660) and Station Road (B660), Holme

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-009

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Long Drove (B660) and Station Road (B660), Holme as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B660 – B1043 – A15 – A1260 – A1139 – A605 – B1095 – B1040 – B660 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 26 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 25 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 23:00hrs 26 January and 06:00hrs 27 January 2025.

High Street and Ailwine Road, Upwood

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-028

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street and Ailwine Road, Upwood as lies between number 66 and The Village Hall; Moss Close and High Street respectively.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Ramsey Road – Huntingdon Road – Meadow Road and vice versa or Huntingdon Road – Meadow Road – High Street and vice versa alternatively Huntingdon Road – Ramsey Road – High Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 20 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 19 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20 January and 24 January 2025.

Clifton Road, Huntingdon

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-030

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Clifton Road, Huntingdon as lies between number 12 and Windover Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Windover Road – St Peters Road – Windover Road – Clifton Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January and 15 January 2025.

Houghton and Wyton Footpath 9, Houghton and Wyton

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2025-032

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Houghton and Wyton Footpath 9, Houghton and Wyton as lies between Houghton and Wyton Footpath 2 and Thicket Road.

An alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 17 January 2025.

Ugg Mere Court Road, Ramsey Heights

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-035

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ugg Mere Court Road, Ramsey Heights as lies between number 351 and Harpers Drove.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Upwood Road – Longholme Road, Upwood – Ramsey Road – Ramsey Road, Bury – B1040 – Ugg Mere Court Road, Ramsey St Marys and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 17 January 2025.

Blacksmiths Lane, Abbotsley

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-043

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Blacksmiths Lane, Abbotsley as lies between Blacksmiths Close and the B1046.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1046 – High Green – Blacksmiths Lane and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 30 June 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:00hrs to 16:00hrs 1 January and 1 April 2025.

Ambury Road South, Huntingdon

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-044

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ambury Road South, Huntingdon as lies between Ambury Lodge and the B1514.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate cleaning, jetting gullies and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19:30hrs 6 January and 05:30hrs 7 January 2025.

Loop Road, Keyston

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-051

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Loop Road, Keyston as lies between The Pheasant and The Park.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B663 – Loop Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 21 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 20 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21 January and 23 January 2025.

Ramsey Road, Upwood

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-064

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ramsey Road, Upwood as lies between Lincoln Road and Victoria Square.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Longholme Road – Upwood Road, Ramsey Heights – Ugg Mere Court Road – St Marys Road, Ramsey St Mary – St Marys Road, Ramsey – B1040 – Bury Road – Upwood Road, Bury – Ramsey Road, Upwood and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January and 15 January 2025.

Chatteris Road (B1050), The Bank (B1050) and Station Approach (B1050), Somersham

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-065

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chatteris Road (B1050), The Bank (B1050) and Station Approach (B1050), Somersham as lies between High Street (B1050) and Colne Fen Farm.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1050 – A1123 – A131 – A142 – B1098 – B1050 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate drainage works and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 14 February 2025.

B1043 Over the A1 to Rusts Lane and Ermine Street, Alconbury

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-072

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along B1043 Over the A1 to Rusts Lane and Ermine Street, Alconbury as lies between North roundabout and West roundabout.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1043 – Stoney Hill, Alconbury Weston – Vinegar Hill – North Road (C103) – North Road (C105) – Alconbury Weston Road, Alconbury – Great North Road (C105) and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate bridge maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January and 10 February 2025.

Belle Isle Crescent, Brampton

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-083

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Belle Isle Crescent, Brampton as lies between West End and Hansell Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Hansell Road – Belle Isle Crescent and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 20 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 19 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20 January and 21 January 2025.

Fen Road, Conington

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-096

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Fen Road, Conington as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 23:00hrs 11 January and 07:00hrs 12 January 2025.

Spittals Way (A141), The Stukeleys

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) & (TEMPORARY NO RIGHT TURN) ORDER 2025-104

Is to impose a 30mph speed limit along Spittals Way (A141), The Stukeleys as lies between Ermine Street and Stonhill and the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from turning right from Spittals Way (A141), The Stukeleys into the Shell Garage.

The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the route or any part of the above mentioned right turn or whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate highway improvements and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 17 January 2025.

Chatteris Road (B1050), The Bank (B1050) and Station Approach (B1050), Somersham

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-106

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chatteris Road (B1050), The Bank (B1050) and Station Approach (B1050), Somersham as lies between High Street (B1050) and Colne Fen Farm.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1050 – A1123 – A131 – A142 – B1098 – B1050 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 14 February 2025.

Bids Lane, Hall Weston

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-107

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bids Lane, Hall Weston as lies between the B645 and High Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B645 – High Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate development and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 20 January 2025.

Longstowe Road, Little Gransden (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-125

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Longstowe Road, Little Gransden as lies between Fullers Hill and High Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1046 – A1198 – A428 – B1040 – B1046 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January and 1 February 2025.

Conington Road, Fenstanton

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-128

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Conington Road, Fenstanton as lies between Conington Road, Conington and Conington Road (C181).

The alternative route for vehicles is via Conington Road (C181) – Cambridge Road (C185) – Huntingdon Road, Fen Drayton – A1307, Local Access Road, Boxworth, High Street, Manor Lane, Elsworth Road, Boxworth Road, Elsworth, Conington Road, Elsworth Road, Conington and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway surfacing works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January 2025 and 10 January 2025.

High Street, Buckden

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-133

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after seven days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Buckden as lies between Church Street and Buckden Roundabout.

The alternative route for vehicles is via St Hughes Road – Silver Street – A1 and vice versa or A1 – High Street – Church Street – Manor Gardens – Glebe Lane – Lucks Lane – Mayfield and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footway maintenance and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January 2025 and 7 February 2025.

Greenfields, Fenstanton

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-136

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Greenfields, Fenstanton as lies between A1096 and 42 Greenfields.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate drainage connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 2 January 2025 and 13 February 2025.

Potton Road, Fenstanton

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-144

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Potton Road, Fenstanton as lies between Willow Road, Hemingford Bypass, Stagecoach and Potton Road, Hemingford Grey.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1040 – A1198 – A1307 – A1096 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January 2025 and 14 February 2025.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A141 – A1 – B1043 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate street light replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 January and 13 March 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, WEST (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-140

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below.

Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.

The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate drainage maintenance and associated works.

The Order will come into operation on 2 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out, at various times, on the dates specified in the Schedule.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, WEST DIVISION (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-080

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads as set out in Schedule 1 below.

Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.

The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate retexturing, crack sealing and associated works.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 1 January 2025 and will continue until these works have finished or on the 30 June 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.

The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
