Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Checkendon, Unnamed Road running through Stoke Row & Main St

Prohibition of Through Traffic

  • Date of Order: 6 January 2025
  • Coming into force: 13 January 2025

This Order is introduced to excavate the road to remove blockages and install new fibre cables which is anticipated to take 6 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in part of the unnamed road running through Stoke Row & Main Street (from Uxmore Road to outside ‘Apple Trees’ and from Main Street junction to Whitehall Lane).

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via the B481 – Gallowstree Road – Horsepond Road – A4074 – Main Street – Uxmore Road – Unnamed Road (running through Stoke Row & Main St) and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Stanford in the Vale, Cottage Road, Chapel Road & Bow Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

  • Date of Order: 6 January 2025
  • Coming into force: 19 January 2025

This Order is being introduced for safe access to installing a new fibre cable joint box and ducting works which are anticipated to be completed 16 February 2025. This will operate between 8am and 4pm Sundays only.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in parts of Cottage Road, Chapel Road and Bow Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Cottage Road, A417 Faringdon Road, Joyce’s Road, Church Green, Chapel Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
