Scotswood Bridge Exit Slip Road - Prohibit All Vehicular Traffic to Allow Works to Be Carried Out on or Near the Highway
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (SCOTSWOOD BRIDGE EXIT SLIP ROAD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 12 December 2024 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on Scotswood Bridge East bound slip road for its whole length.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.
3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 20 January 202 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 24 February 2025 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
