What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
U6550 VICTORIA TERRACE BACK LANE BEDLINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U6550 Victoria Terrace Back Lane Bedlington from its point at the gable end of 87a Victoria Terrace heading south for a distance of 20 metres then northeast for a distance of 70 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 13th January 2025 until the 24th January 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 13th January 2025 until the 17th January 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th January 2025.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the C405 Rothesay Terrace Victoria Terrace, Victoria Terrace Back Lane and vice-versa.

The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water Ltd to repair or replace a stop tap in the carriageway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
