NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MANCHESTER ROAD, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY) (Revocation, Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting And Limited Waiting) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 06 December 2024 Lancashire County Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) The "Lancashire County Council (Manchester Road and Arno Street, Avenham, Preston City) (Prohibition of Waiting and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2013" insofar as it relates to Items c) and d) of Schedule 1.
b) The "Lancashire County Council (Preston City Area) (On Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Consolidation Order 2009" insofar as it relates to:
i. Item (11) of Schedule 11.077;
ii. Item (17) of Schedule 12.084.
2. Introduce a prohibition of waiting in the following lengths of road:
a) Manchester Road, Preston, the north east side, from a point 10.5 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Lark Hill Road for a distance of 65.5 metres in a south easterly direction;
b) Manchester Road, Preston, the south west side, from a point 15.5 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Arno Street for a distance of 32.5 metres in a south easterly direction.
3. Introduce a restriction waiting Monday to Saturday between 8am and 7pm in Manchester Road, Preston, the south west side, from its junction with the centreline of Avenham Lane to a point 15.5 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Arno Street.
4. Introduce a limited waiting parking place for 1 hour with no return within 2 hours, Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm in Manchester Road, Preston, the north east side, from a point 52 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Queen Street for a distance of 47.5 metres in a south easterly direction.

This Order will come into force on the 23 December 2024. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Preston City Council, PO Box 10, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, PO Box 100, Preston PR1 0LD, and on Lancashire County Councils Website http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/roads/roadworks-and-traffic-regulation-orders/permanent.aspx, quoting ref: LSG4/894. 19267/AFR. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
