(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Locksbrook Road, Bath from its junction with Station Road extending west to a point outside 108 Locksbrook Road. USRN: 47901027.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Virgin Media to clear blockages in the carriageway on the 2nd January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for ONE DAY.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Locksbrook Road – Brassmill Lane - A4 Newbridge Road – Station Road. Access will be maintained for residents/businesses on the one-way section of Locksbrook Road.

(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Englishcombe Road, Englishcombe, Bath from its junction with Rectory Farm Lane extending south west to a point outside the property known as The Old School. USRN: 47961109.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Wessex Water to replace a S81 damaged manhole cover in the carriageway on the 2nd January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. 

The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for TWO DAYS.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

• A road closure in that length of Princes Street, City Centre, Bath from its junction with Chapel Row/Queen Square extending south to its junction with the hotel car park just off Princes Street. USRN: 47901169.

• A temporary suspension of the one-way restriction on Princes Street to enable two-way traffic to access the hotel car park from the direction of Monmouth Street.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Wessex Water to install a new connection in the carriageway/footpath on the 7th January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. 

The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for THREE DAYS.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Clockwise: Princes Street (remainder) – Monmouth Street – Chapel Row – A4 Queen Square.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Woolley Lane, Charlcombe, Bath from a point approximately 60 metres north of the property known as Homestead extending south for approximately 300 metres. This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable safe access for Openreach to carry out pole testing works on the 9th January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. 

The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for ONE DAY between 09:30 - 15:30hrs.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:

• introduce a one-way restriction on A367 Chapel Row from its junction with St Paul’s Place extending north to its junction with Queen Square. One-way traffic will only be able to travel in a northbound direction.

• close Princes Street at its junction with A367 Chapel Row only.

• temporarily suspend the one-way restriction on Princes Street to allow two-way traffic flow. Access to Princes Street will be from Monmouth Street.

• temporarily introduce a no left-hand turn restriction at the junction of A367 Charles Street/St Paul’s Place to prevent vehicles turning onto St Paul’s Place.

• temporarily introduce a no right-hand turn restriction to vehicles over 3.5 Tonnes at the junction of Monmouth Street/A367 Chapel Row to prevent vehicles over 3.5 Tonnes only turning onto A367 Chapel Row.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable National Grid to carry out new electricity sub-station and high voltage cable replacement works from the 5th January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. 

The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for TWENTY TWO DAYS.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: For vehicles needing access to St Paul’s Place/Monmouth Place: A4 Queen Square – A4 Queen Square Place – A4 Charlotte Street – A4 Upper Bristol Road – Little Stanhope Street – Stanhope Place – James St West – Westgate Buildings – Monmouth Street.

For southbound traffic: A4 Queen Square – A4 Queen Square Place – A4 Charlotte Street – A4 Upper Bristol Road – Little Stanhope Street – Stanhope Place – James St West.
