NOTICE OF CONFRIMATION OF A CYCLE TRACKS ORDER
CYCLE TRACKS ACT 1984
PUBLIC FOOTPATH UH16 AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH UH2 (PART)
AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH UH1 (PART) – ROTHWELL IN THE DISTRICT OF KETTERING
CYCLE TRACKS ORDER 2018
Notice is hereby given that the North Northamptonshire Council in exercise of its powers under the above Act, on 31st October 2024 confirmed without modification the Northamptonshire County Council (Public Footpath UH16 and Public Footpath UH2 (Part) and Public Footpath UH1 (Part) – Rothwell in the District of Kettering Cycle Tracks Order 2018.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to designate the length of footpaths specified in this notice as a cycle track, which shall be a highway maintainable at public expense and over which the public shall have a right of way on pedal cycles (other than pedal cycles which are motor vehicles) and a right of way on foot. The cycle track will be for unsegregated use by pedestrians and cyclists. The footpaths designated as cycle track by this order are as follows:
Public Footpath UH16
That length of Public Footpath UH16 commencing at the junction of Gordon Street and Jubilee Street at Point A on the Order map at National Grid Reference (NGR) 8167 8090 to a distance of approximately 54 metres to Point B on the Order map at NGR SP 8169 8095 at a junction with UH2. Public Footpath UH16 to be converted to a cycle track has no recorded width.
Public Footpath UH2 (Part)
That part of Public Footpath UH2 commencing at Point B on the Order map at NGR SP 8169 8095 and running in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 211 metres to Point C on the Order map at NGR SP 8187 8105, then traveling in a north north easterly direction for approximately 38 metres, where it has a junction with Public Footpath UH1 at Point D on the Order map at NGR SP 8188 8109. The route of that part of Public Footpath UH2 to be converted to a cycle track has a variable recorded width of between 0.9 to 5.6 metres.
Public Footpath UH1 (Part)
The part of Public Footpath UH1 commencing at Point D on the Order map at NGR SP 8188 8109 and proceeding in a generally northerly direction for approximately 40 metres to Point E on the Order map at NGR SP 8187 8112 where it has a junction with Ponder Street. The route of that part of Public Footpath UH1 to be converted to a cycle track has a width of 2.75 metres.
A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Pathfinder Legal Services Limited, One Angel Square, Angel Street, Northampton, NN1 1ED between the hours of 9am and 12 noon and 2pm and 4pm Monday to Friday inclusive. Copies of the Order and map may be bought from the Head of Property & Planning at the price of £5.00 + VAT. The Order became operative on the 7th of November 2024 but if a person is aggrieved by the Order and desires to question its validity on the ground that it is not within the powers of section 3 of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984 or that any of the requirements of the Act, or of any Regulations made under the Act have not been complied with in relation to it, he or she may within 42 days from the date of publication of this Notice make an application to the High Court under Section 3(6) of the Act.
