Sandwell, Tipton/Great Barr/Wednesbury - Temporary Traffic Restrictions, and Road Closures, to allow for works to be executed.

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Tinsley Street, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Tinsley Street, which will be closed from the junction of Whitehall Road (northern access) for a distance of 75 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Whitehall Road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 28/01/2025 effective from 13/01/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for electrical service works by National Grid electricity Distribution.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Earl Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Earl Street, which will be closed between the gable ends of property Nos.10 & 12. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Duke street, Guns Lane and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 10/01/2025 effective from 06/01/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to lay three new domestic gas services by Cadent Gas Limited.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Chapel Lane, Great Barr

(Temporary Road Closure) and (Birmingham Road, Great Barr) (Temporary No Right Turn Restriction) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Chapel Lane, which will be closed between the junctions of Birmingham Road and Coronation Road (south-western side). Access to any affected frontages, including The Holiday Inn and Vicarage Rise will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Order 2024 also intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via a right turn from Birmingham Road to Chapel Lane for the duration of the works (except for access). A traffic diversion route for the Chapel Lane closure will be signed via Birmingham Road (northbound), Broadway North, Sutton Road, Beacon Road and vice versa. A further traffic diversion route for the Chapel Lane closure will be signed via Birmingham Road (southbound), Queslett Road, Beacon Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/03/2025 effective from 06/01/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for gas service works by Cadent Gas Limited.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Union Street, Wednesbury)

(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Union Street, which will be will be closed from its junction with Upper High Street for 60 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will not be signed as Union Street is not a through road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 28/03/2025 effective from 03/01/2025 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Newhall Street, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Newhall Street, which will be closed at the junction of High Street and Bloomfield Road for approximately 20 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. In addition, there will be 3-way temporary traffic signals in operation on High Street at the junction of Bradleys Lane, Bloomfield Road and High Street for the duration of the Newhall Street, Tipton Road closure. Traffic will be diverted via Regent Street, Tibbington Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by
