What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U5401 Hundred Acre Lane,
Wivelsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hundred Acre Lane – from the junction with C71 Middleton Common Lane to Park Farm.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5401 Hundred Acre Lane – C6 South Road, Green Road – B2112 Ditchling Road – C71 Folders Lane East, Middleton Common Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 14 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:30hrs on 14 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C5 Freshfield Lane – A275 Lewes Road, Sheffield Green and vice versa.
The Order commences 16 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 29 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
