Basingstoke, Temporary Road Closures Due To Bridge Inspection Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES - CHAPEL HILL & VYNE ROAD, BASINGSTOKE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED:

1. Chapel Hill between its junction with Alencon Link Roundabout and a point approximately 170 Metres North-West of said junction. Access only between its junction with Alencon Link Roundabout and its junction with Sherborne Road.

2. Vyne Road between its junction with Chapel Hill and its junction with Basingstoke Railway Station Car Park. Access only between its junction with Burgess Road and its junction with Alencon Link Roundabout on Chapel Hill.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Burgess Road, Sherborne Road, Kingsclere Road, Houndmills Road, Brunel Road, A340, A3010, Alencon Link

DURATION OF ORDER: from 17th December 2024 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 1 night, working between the hours 21:00 - 05:00).

The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Xeiad to carry out a bridge inspection. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order please contact: bonnie.kelly@gtm.co.uk

Xeiad will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
