What is happening?

(DUDDINGSTON PARK SOUTH & THE JEWEL AREA)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC
REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/199
The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and drainage improvement works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle between 19:00hrs & 06:00hrs of the following day DAILY on: (i) Magdalene Drv, from Duddingston Park Sth to Bailie Path; (ii) Mountcastle Drv Sth, from Duddingston Park Sth to Durham Rd Sth; (iii) The Jewel, from its jnct with the roundabout at Duddingston Park Sth, eastwards to its jnct with Redsman Drv; (iv) Nth Greens, at its jnct with The Jewel; (v) Parrotshot, at its jnct with The Jewel; (vi) Hosie Rigg, at its jnct with The Jewel; (vii) Vexhim Park, at its jnct with The Jewel; (viii) Corbiewynd, at its jnct with The Jewel; & (ix) Corbieshot, at its jnct with The Jewel; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Duddingston Park Sth, from its jnct with Magdalene Drv, southwards to 50m south of the roundabout at its jnct with The Jewel; (ii) Magdalene Drv, from Duddingston Park Sth to Bailie Path; (iii) Mountcastle Drv Sth, from Duddingston Park Sth to Durham Rd Sth; & (iv) The Jewel (both carriageways), from its jnct with the roundabout at Duddingston Park Sth, eastwards to its jnct with Corbieshot.
Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b). The following restriction will be suspended: bus lanes on The Jewel, between Corbieshot and Redsman Drv, to allow two-way access. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via: (i) Magdalene Drv – Bailie
Grv, Bailie Ter & Duddingston Park Sth; (ii) Mountcastle Drv Sth – Durham Rd Sth, Milton Rd West & Duddingston Park Sth; & (iii) The Jewel – Duddingston Park Sth, Newcraighall Rd, A1, Milton Link & Duddingston Cres. The following roads have no available diversions, where local access will be maintained:
(iv) Nth Greens; (v) Parrotshot; (vi) Hosie Rigg; (vii) Vexhim Park; (viii) Corbiewynd; & (ix) Corbieshot. The order shall have effect from 13/1/25 to 25/4/25
