ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
THE A69 TRUNK ROAD (DENTON BURN INTERCHANGE TO ROSE HILL INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY 50 MILES PER HOUR, 40 MILES PER HOUR, 30 MILES PER HOUR AND 10 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A69 Trunk Road, in the Counties of Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Cumbria, to enable routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on or after Monday 6th January 2025 and will take place periodically over a period of 12 months and will end on Friday 19 December 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to impose, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph, 40mph, 30mph and at times a 10mph speed restriction on the A69 eastbound and westbound carriageways between Denton Burn Interchange and Rose Hill Interchange, a distance of approximately 83,200 metres. The 10mph limit will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle.

When required, traffic management will be in operation 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles).

The Order comes into force on the 5 January 2025 and has a maximum duration of nine months.
