ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 4(1) AND 14(1)(A) AND (C), AND (4)

THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (WANSFORD, CITY OF PETERBOROUGH TO NECTON, NORFOLK) (DEREHAM TO BRUNDALL, NORFOLK) AND (ACLE, NORFOLK TO LOWESTOFT, SUFFOLK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough and the counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 2 January 2025 and be completed by 21 December 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to:

(a) authorise the overnight closure (20.00–08.00) along various lengths of the A47 between Wansford Interchange and 20 metres south of Bascule Bridge in Lowestoft;

(b) authorise the closure of:

(i) all slip roads leading to and from the above length of the A47;

(ii) the laybys on the above lengths of the A47;

(iii) the gaps in the central reservation on the above length of the A47.

During the closures traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A47 and local roads.

The duration of each closure will vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance vehicles), and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order will come into force on 27 December 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
