What is happening?

TO THE LONNING JUNCTION LONGHORSLEY
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic and to restrict the speed of vehicular traffic on the C168 Bushy Gap Junction to The Lonning Junction Longhorsley in the County of Northumberland as described below:
The Order is to be effective from the 13th January 2025 until the 12th July 2025.
Road Closure:
A road closure will be in place on the C168 Bushy Gap Junction to The Lonning Junction Longhorsley from outside the front of Brockley Hall heading in an easterly direction for a distance of 543 metres in the County of Northumberland.
It is expected that the road closure will be in force from the 13th January 2025 until the 17th January 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 during this period however the Order will remain in place until the 12th July 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C168, C165, C136 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
Speed Restriction: 60mph down to 40mph
A speed restriction will hereby further be in force which will restrict the speed of all vehicular traffic from 60mph down to 40mph on the C168 Bushy Gap Junction to The Lonning Junction Longhorsley from outside the front of Brockley Hall heading in an easterly direction for a distance of 543 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The speed restriction is expected to be in force when the road re-opens between 17:00 hours and 08:00 hours from the 13th January 2025 until the 17th January 2025. The Order however will remain in place until the 12th July 2025.

The road closure and speed restriction have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out repairs to broken culverts. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
