What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC MILL ROAD AND
ROAD FROM HUNMANBY TO WOLD
NEWTON CROSSROADS, BURTON FLEMING
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Mill Road and road from Hunmanby to Wold Newton
Crossroads, Burton Fleming approximately 200 metres
either side of the crossroads commencing 13 January
2025 to allow resurfacing works to be carried out
safely. The road closure is necessary to enable the
works to be carried out in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed by 14 February 2025.
The alternative routes for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via:
1. Mill Road, Fordon Road and Hunmanby Road,
Burton Fleming to the North Yorkshire jurisdiction
and vice versa.
2. Mill Road, Front Street, Wold Newton Road and
Burton Fleming Road, Burton Fleming, Bridlington
Road, Laking Lane, Butt Lane, Front Street and
Fordon Road, Wold Newton and Burton Fleming
Road, Fordon and vice versa.
3. Mill Road, Fordon Road, Front Street, Wold Newton
Road, road from Hunmanby to Wold Newton,
Burton Fleming and vice versa.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles, residents and
pedestrians.
