What is happening?

(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections of footways in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 9th January 2025 until the 3rd April 2025.
Footway Closures
U110 Greenwood Footway, Tweedmouth from its westward junction with Ivinson Road heading northwards for a distance of 21 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the Ivinson Road, U110 Greenwood Footway and vice-versa.
U110 Greenwood Footway, Tweedmouth from a point at the rear of house number 28 heading westwards for a distance of 32 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U110 Greenwood Footway, Ivinson Road, Greenwood, U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway and vice-versa.
U110 Greenwood Footway, Tweedmouth from its junction with Greenwood heading southwards for a distance of 47 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the Greenwood, U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway, U110 Greenwood Footway and vice- versa.
It is expected that the footways will only be closed from the 9th January 2025 until the 16th January 2025 and that the footways will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 3rd April 2025.
U110 Ivinson Road Footway, Tweedmouth from its junction with the U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway heading westwards for a distance of 85 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway, Etal Road, Cornhill Road, Ivinson Road, U110 Ivinson Road Footway and vice-versa.
U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway, Tweedmouth from its southward junction with U110 Greenwood Footway heading southwards for a distance of 63 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway, Etal Road, Cornhill Road, Ivinson Road, U110 Greenwood Footway and vice-versa.
U110 Ivinson Road Greenwood Footway, Tweedmouth from its
junction with Greenwood heading southwards for a distance of 45 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U110 Greenwood Footway, Greenwood and vice-versa.
It is expected that the footways will only be closed from the 10th January 2025 until the 17th January 2025 and that the footways will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 3rd April 2025.

The closure has been requested by Avonline Networks to install microducts and network fibre. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
