What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U1001 Bowmont Water Junction To Brownrigg Junction Branxton for its entire length of 840 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 6th January 2025 until the 17th January 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 6th January 2025 until the 10th January 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 17th January 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B6352, C20 and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Go Fibre to clear blockages, install new duct overlay and cabling for network fibre. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
