London Road & Northern Parade - Temporary Bus Lane Suspension
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (London Road Bus Lane) (Temporary Bus Lane Suspension)
(No.15) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st January 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY BUS LANE SUSPENSION
LONDON ROAD
From its junction with Oakwood Road to
Portsbridge Roundabout.
NORTHERN PARADE
From its junction with Hilsea Crescent to London Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas repair works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 1st January 2025 for 18 months or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from main carriageway into bus lane. Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works. Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
