(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highways in Berwick-upon-Tweed in the County of Northumberland.
B6354 Etal Road from its junction with the A1 heading in a northerly direction for a length of 135 metres.
B6354 Ford Bridge Junction to Tweedmouth from its junction with the A1 heading in a southerly direction for a length of 108 metres
The Order is to be effective from the 13th January 2025 until the 7th March 2025.
It is expected that the roads will only be closed from the 21st January 2025 until the 28th February 2025 between the hours of 20:00 until 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th March 2025.
Southbound Traffic:
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C7, B6354, U113, A1167, U59 and vice-versa or A698, U14 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes and where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
Northbound Traffic:
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C5, B6354, C6 and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes and where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by National Highways to resurface part of the A1. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
