What is happening?

SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
(WESTFIELD) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 19 December 2024 the Sheffield City Council made the above Order which comes into operation on 23 December 2024 under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 20mph speed limit on the whole or on parts of Birchwood Close, Birchwood Croft, Birchwood Gardens, Birchwood Grove, Birchwood Rise, Birchwood View, Birchwood Way, Challoner Green, Challoner Way, Cowley Gardens, Eastcroft Close, Eastcroft Drive, Eastcroft Glen, Eastcroft View, Eastcroft Way, Garland Close, Garland Croft, Garland Mount, Garland Way, Halfway Close, Inkersall Drive, Meadowcroft Gardens, Meadowcroft Glade, Meadowcroft Rise, Pedley Avenue, Pedley Close, Pedley Drive, Pedley Grove, Rotherham Road North, Shortbrook Bank, Shortbrook Close, Shortbrook Croft, Shortbrook Drive, Shortbrook Road, Shortbrook Way, Waterfield Mews, Waterthorpe Close, Waterthorpe Crescent, Waterthorpe Gardens, Waterthorpe Glade, Waterthorpe Glen, Waterthorpe Rise, Westcroft Crescent, Westcroft Drive, Westcroft Gardens, Westcroft Glen, Westcroft Grove, Westfield Centre, Westfield Southway, Westland Close, Westland Gardens, Westland Grove and Westland Road.

A copy of the Order may be examined during normal opening hours at First Point Reception, Howden House, 1 Union Street, Sheffield, S1 2SH or within the Sealed Traffic Orders section on the Council website at

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the enabling Act or that a requirement of the enabling Act or any of the relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks of 23 December 2024 make application for that purpose to the High Court.
