Parish of Harbottle (Public Footpath No 5) Diversion Order 2024
The above Order was made on 7th August 2024, and was Confirmed on 4th December 2024 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-
Public Footpath No 5 (Parish of Harbottle)
To extinguish the footpath, from a point in North Wood, 260 metres north of Lanternside House (OS grid ref: NT 9460 0277), in a general south-westerly then south-easterly then southerly direction for a distance of 420 metres, to a point 30 metres east of Lanternside Farm (NT 9473 0247).
To create a 2 metre wide footpath, from a point in North Wood, 260 metres north of Lanternside House (OS grid ref: NT 9460 0277), in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 180 metres, then in a general southerly direction for a distance of 190 metres, skirting around the ancient monument, to a point 30 metres east of Lanternside Farm (NT 9473 0247).

A copy of the Order and map have been placed, and may be seen free of charge, at the Council Offices of Alnwick Customer Information Centre, Lindisfarne Centre, Lindisfarne Road, Alnwick, NE66 1AU and the offices of Legal Services, County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF during normal working hours. The Order comes into force on 5th February 2025 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highway Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in paragraph 5 or Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 19th December 2024 make an application to the High Court.
